Make Heaven Crowded
The story behind the song...
Over the years, my family and I listened to countless Charlie Kirk debates, speeches, and interviews. We watched as he welcomed anyone to have open debate with him - as he listened to their views and gave his researched opinion so eloquently and respectfully, and above all - always striving to speak the truth. We heard him speak in person at a rally. We followed Erika's social media and saw her posts when their precious daughter, and then their beautiful son, were born.
We listened to Charlie speak about what it means to love, honor, cherish…God, family, country…in that order.
The loss of his life here on earth, of his voice and the impact he was making every single day is tremendous. Charlie was a brilliant leader, a husband, a father, a friend, and the voice to millions of people who looked up to him. Most importantly, he was a man of God, so we gain strength in knowing that he is safe in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, and we will see him again one day.
The news that Charlie Kirk was assassinated was absolutely crushing. But the strength of Erika and the people who knew Charlie best - their promise to continue his mission and make it stronger than ever before, and the revival that is sweeping across the nation…the world…is incredible.
A few days after Charlie Kirk was killed, my husband asked me if I could write a song from the perspective of his daughter. It hadn’t even been a thought in my mind, but I told my husband that if God gave me a song, I would write it. Phrases started coming that night, and then the piano, and I told God…if you do entrust me with a song, I WILL get it out there.
This song is dedicated to GG - thank you for sharing your daddy with all of us. We promise to continue his mission to "Make Heaven Crowded".
